Google Contracts Catamaran Ferry For Employees

Google is really going out of their way to try and make things easier for their employees. Google has now expanded their employee transportation service by way of sea.

(SF Gate) “Google has contracted a catamaran ferry to transport its workers from San Francisco to Redwood City, which is approximately 11 miles north of the Google headquarters in Mountain View, CBS’s KPIX 5 reports.”

Google is trying to create alternative ways to transport employees to work. The company’s normal way of transporting employees was by bus. This has caused congestion on the roads making local residents unhappy. This new way of transportation hopefully will tide over the animosity.

The catamaran ferry began service to employees on Monday. The service will continue on a trial basis.

What do you think about this new form of transportation for Google employees? Do you think this is a smart idea or a poor idea?
